What do I need to bring on the day of my cats arrival?

On your arrival we will confirm your personal and booking details and satisfy ourselves that we have a suitable means of contacting you, or a nominated person, in the event of any query. As part of our continued commitment to your cat's welfare, we will also need to discuss the issue of veterinary consent in the event of concerns arising about your cat's health. Vaccination card, microchip, insurance details, details of most recent Flea and Worming treatment and any medical history information

In accordance with the Animal Activities Licensing (AAL) October 2008, a current and accurate vaccination card must be provided on the day of arrival and retained at the Cattery for the duration of your cats stay. 

The vaccination card must display the following information:

  • Your registered family name and address.
  • Your cats registered name, breed and description.
  • Your cats date of birth (approximate D.O.B. is acceptable for rescue cats)
  • Your cats Sex and Neuter status
  • Your cats microchip number (where applicable) and the company that their microchip details are held with
  • The date that your cat’s last vaccination was administered including the vaccine type and brand details
  • The date of your cats next scheduled vaccination

Please refer to the published terms and conditions for the vaccination requirements.

Upon your arrival we are required to record the details of your cats most recent parasite prevention treatments therefore please have this information available as per our terms and conditions.

We are also required to record details about your cat’s medical history, any recent injuries, stressful events or changes to your cat’s temperament that could affect your cat’s well-being whilst in our care. These details will be discussed and updated with you each time that your cats arrives with us.

For Cats that have pet insurance we are required to document the insurance company and policy number. This can be provided as a separate document.

Ensure your cat(s) has a safe journey

To comply with our welfare policy, please ensure that your cat arrives at our reception in their own individual pet carrier that is clearly labelled with their registered name, family surname, your emergency contact name and number.

Bedding

Whilst each of our rooms has freshly made beds…..your cat(s) may find a bed / blanket from home reassuring during their stay.

Toys

We provide guests with a range of toys however, any mental stimulation toy(s) or particular favourites from home will be an additional help to keep your pet entertained during their stay.

Litter Tray and Litter

We provide a minimum of one litter tray per guest.  Litter trays are available in small, large, open or hooded designs.
Our standard options of cat litter for your pet to choose from include Wood pellet, Bio Catolet or light weight gravel.
You are welcome to bring your pet(s) own litter tray and litter if you prefer.

Food

Our boarding fees include the following foods:

Pouches: Whiskers in jelly / gravy. Sheba, Felix as good as it looks pouches 

Dried food: Iams chicken / fish. Whiskers meat /fish. Purina one meat /fish. Go cat. 

However you may prefer to bring your pets own food but please note that their is no reduction in boarding fees when providing your cats own food.
Our range of stock does not include breed specific pouches or biscuits, prescription foods or foods designed for specific nutritional requirements for example, urinary care, neutered pet  or weight management food.
Please bring Cat milk and treats if required.

Water Fountains

Whilst we do not provide water fountains you may wish to bring your cats own.
As we only have a small number of rooms which can accommodate water fountains, these rooms are subject to availability and therefore not guaranteed.

Please note: All water fountains requiring a power sources must be PATS tested prior to arrival and display their safety certificate. Water fountains are not operational overnight and an alternative water source will be provided. We reserve the right to refuse the use of a water fountain that is not PATS tested or does not appear in the opinion of Kingstone Pet Boarding to be in safe working order.

Please note that we do not keep an inventory of guest belongings and therefore please ensure that you check you have all of your pet’s belongings at the end of their stay. We strongly advise that all of your cats belongings are clearly labelled.

Monday to Saturday
9.30am until 10.30am
4.30pm until 5.30pm

From October 2024 our evening hours will be 4pm to 5pm

  Sundays, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve 

9.30am to 10.30am only
(closed to the Public on Bank holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year's Day)

When planning your visit please allow sufficient time to settle your pet into their accommodation and to complete the required documentation within the opening hour.
